EBRPHA only accepts HCV applications when the waitlist is open. Check the EBRPHA website, EBRPHA social media, and your local paper to know when the waitlist is open.

In an affordable housing community, EBRPHA owns and manages the home and you lease straight from EBRPHA. With the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), you rent from a private landlord you choose and EBRPHA pays a subsidy. Both offer income-based rent, but they run separately with different waitlists.

Browse all EBRPHA communities on the Communities page. You will find locations, home sizes, features, and on-site manager contacts. You may apply to more than one community at a time.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sets the income limits, based on the area median income for East Baton Rouge Parish. EBRPHA confirms your eligibility during the review. Contact EBRPHA or a housing analyst if you are not sure whether you qualify.

You have on-site managers, EBRPHA support services, and community programs. Once a year, EBRPHA reviews your income and household at recertification. You keep your home in good condition and follow your lease.

Report any change in income to EBRPHA as soon as it happens; you do not have to wait for your annual recertification. Income changes affect your rent calculation, and unreported changes may lead to repayment or other consequences.

EBRPHA may consider a transfer based on home availability, household need, and program rules. Contact your community manager to ask about transfer options.
